Rosenborg wins the UNICEF Mesterfinalen

Rosenborg took the first  trophy of the season as they beat Brann 2-0 in the Mesterfinalen in Bergen.

Both teams rested some of their players ahead of the Eliteserien first round that starts this weekend. Rosenborg showed though in this match that they wanted the trophy more and they got it. The first goal came in the 32 minutes when Jevtovic cut free in the box and his shot hit the Brann goalkeeper Grønner in the foot but went in.

he next goal came already on the 94th minute. Rosenborg lost the first ball after a short corner, but Captain Jensen managed to win it back before passing it to Helland who moved it Bendtner in front of goal. The Danish striker found defender Reginiussen who blasted the ball in from close range to seal the game.

Rosenborg had several chances in the match but Brann keeper Grønner was in good form. Brann had their own chances in the match and it was not one-sided. However they lacked quality in the attacking zone and could not find the target.

Both teams can now focus on the Eliteserien which starts this weekend. Brann travels to Tromso on Sunday and Rosenborg will host Odd in a big match between title favourite and the biggest challenger.
